Miss Havisham - My Three Make-up Designs

For my Miss Havisham make-up designs, I have created three possible ideas.  They each look at different ways in which Miss Havisham could be seen by other people.  For example, how she is seen by Pip or everyday people during the Victorian era.

Design 1:
This make-up design uses the ageing effect that we learnt the other week in one of our practical sessions.  I have designed this face chart as a way of seeing how Miss Havisham might be portrayed through Pip's eyes.

Products needed:
- Kryolan Foundation palette
- Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation: White
- Illamasqua Satin Primer
- Dermacolour Camouflage palette: D10 & D11
- DUO adhesive

- Begin by mixing your model's shade of foundation with the Illamasqua white foundation and primer
- Apply this to all visible skin (face, neck, ears, etc)
- Use Dermacolour D11 to create the lines on the face and blend any harsh lines with your finger
- To get the lines in the right place, get your model to frown/smile/suck in their cheeks/etc
- Apply Dermacolour D10 to the corners of the lips and then put a layer of DUO over them
- When the DUO is dry, pick at it to give a cracked lip effect

Design 2:
The idea behind this make-up design is that Miss Havisham is very tired and red eyed from crying a lot.  Also, it shows the idea of her being quite gaunt, as I don't think she would be someone who eats much at all.

Products needed:
- Kryolan Foundation Palette
- Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation: White
- Dermacolour Camouflage Palette: D10, D11, D6 & D7
- Supracolour: 079
- MAC Chromographic Pencil: Red
- Vaseline
- DUO Adhesive

- Begin by mixing the model's shade of foundation with Illamasqua's Rich Liquid White foundation and apply all over the face, ears and neck (including lips)
- Mix Dermacolour D10 and D11 and apply under cheek bones, under the eyes, in the eyelid creases, down the sides of the nose and under the chin
- Apply Dermacolour D6 and D7 (mixed) above the shadings you just created
- Use Supracolour 079 under the eyes and on the eyelids, creating a sore effect
- Apply the Chromographic pencil along the water line and some vaseline around the eyes, to make them look swollen
- Apply Dermacolour D10 to the corners of the lips
- Apply DUO over the lips, not being too neat, and then peel it once it's dried
- Finish by brushing the eyebrows back to make them look messy

Design 3:
This design is very similar to the one above, however I thought about the possibility of Miss Havisham being very nervous and constantly itching parts of her skin, causing harm to herself.

Products needed:
- Kryolan Foundation Palette
- Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation: White
- Dermacolour Camouflage Palette: D10, D11, D6 & D7
- Supracolour palette: 079
- DUO Adhesive
- Wound Filler

- Begin by mixing the model's shade of foundation with Illamasqua's Rich Liquid White foundation and apply all over the face, ears and neck (including lips)
- Mix Dermacolour D10 and D11 and apply under cheek bones, under the eyes, in the eyelid creases, down the sides of the nose and under the chin
- Apply Dermacolour D6 and D7 (mixed) above the shadings you just created
- Use Supracolour 079 under the eyes and on the eyelids, creating a sore effect
- Apply the Chromographic pencil along the water line
- Apply Dermacolour D10 to the corners of the lips
- Apply DUO over the lips and on the left cheek, and then peel it once it's dried
- Finish by adding a some wound filler to the dried DUO on the cheek, to make it look like an old graze
