My Own Hair Silhouettes

In our hair classes for the past two weeks, we have been working with our Miss Havisham hair designs to develop them.  To do this we have been using our key words and applying them to our designs, in order to make them more characterised.  My chosen word is 'decaying' because I imagine Miss Havisham to be a heartbroken woman who doesn't care much for her appearance anymore.  In the novel she is described to still be in her bridal attire and to never have changed out of it since she was jilted at the alter.  Therefore, I have an image in my head of her with a really dishevelled hairstyle, that was once beautiful, though I want to be able to still show the beauty through the dishevelled-ness of the hairstyle.

I have narrowed down my three designs to just two, and I experimented with them in our seminars.  I created the shapes that I wanted, and then went back over the design to backcomb it, pull bits apart and out of place.  I then shot my own silhouettes of my designs.  This was effective, because it took out all of the details within the hair designs and left me with just an outline of my designs.  This helped me to see what I needed to do to improve them in order to make them more striking, and it also helped me to decide which design to create for my Miss Havisham assessment.  My silhouette images are shown below:
