The Make-Up Room: A VERY 19C ILLNESS

Equipment needed:
-       Supracolour palette
-       Glycerin
-       DUO lash glue/latex
-       Kryolan tear sticks

NOTES TO CONSIDER:
-       What has happened to the character?
-       What illness do they have?  Sytoms?  The stage of illness?
-       Blotchy skin appears from blood vessels under the skin
-       NEVER put glycerin in the eye
-       NEVER use latex around the eye area -> use DUO instead
-       Better to apply this make-up to the natural skin, as it makes it more realistic

How to:
-       Begin by concealing any spots and blemishes on the skin
-       Mix a browny colour from the supracolour palette and apply under the eyes using a small brush
-       Blend hard edges with your finger
-       Apply any colour right into the lash lines and apply red in the water line
-       Add small amount of red to the outer lower lash line to make it look sore
-       Mix the blue and red from the supracolour on the back of your hand, adding small bit of moisturizer to thin it, making it easier blend on the face
-       Apply colour onto face where someone would get flushed if they were ill and apply it with our fingers
-       DO NOT apply the same colour all over the face, create different levels of the colour applied -> more realistic as no one is just one same colour
-       Take the colour right into the hair line and down the neck as well
-       Keep building up colour until you are happy
-       Discolour lips with a bluey shade -> only apply a small amount
-       Dab DUO on the lips and wait for it to dry before rubbing it to create a peeling effect, making it look like dry lips/or dry skin if applied to the skin
-       Can use latex as well -> if using latex, powder over the top to blend it with the skin
-       Use a stipple sponge to dab glycerin where sweat would naturally occur on the face
-       To create tears -> can use a pipette to apply glycerin in order to make tears/or can rub tear sticks under the eyes to make them water naturally themselves

EVALUATION: I found this a simple yet effective method to make someone look ill.  I that the look I created was quite good, though it could possibly have more of a build up of colour.
